Market & Position Update
Market Update Hello Smart Option Sellers! No doubt we are in a period of heightened volatility. Lots of whipsaws, especially at the hands of our U.S. President who likes to tweet about his every thought. Some of which have real consequences to this market. Playing the international game of politics is not an easy task, especially if you have no experience with it at all. I think Trump feels like he can navigate the waters based on his gut alone, which we're finding is not the best way to operate. I'm in no way going to get political here, but with the China tensions and the tariff drama, we can expect to see more volatility, with a slight nod to more downside price action. It's not clear whether the spat with China will be short-lived (hoping it will) or be prolonged for months on end. As I said in a recent past alert, it is in the best interests of both U.S. & China to not let this become a world-wide drag on market activity. So, we will remain vigilant and keep an eye on things. Just know, the stock market has always rebounded after times of turmoil. Always has, always will. You can't stop the forward momentum of solid companies that will continue to drive our economies for generations to come. Sure, it can be choppy at times, but the end result will be higher stock prices. Position Update As far as our individual positions go, we have a small group at the moment. That's a good thing in this current environment as we need to be very selective with the companies we choose, and the timing. No sense jumping the gun if the market keeps dropping. The one wrinkle in the plans is that we never know when the bottom is in. So, we will take positions from time to time to test the waters. As long as we choose quality stocks and mind our defensive tactics, the potential damage can be minimized. So no new trades for today as we'll sit on the sidelines for the moment. That's all for now. I will be out of the office tomorrow so enjoy the long holiday weekend. Continue to hold all other open positions as-is. Contact us here with fills, comments, questions or concerns. Regards,
