New Trade!
New Trade! Hello Smart Option Sellers! I would say Happy Monday, but it is tax day after-all, so I'll leave the cheeriness for later. Anyway, it's time for a new trade! Yes, I know it's been awhile, but we play what the market gives and if we have to wait on the sidelines sometimes, then so be it. Having money in your pocket is better than not having money in your pocket. Merck & Co. (MRK) Healthcare is where it's at, and you'll see us play this sector probably more than any other. We all need good healthcare, no matter our age. It's one area of the market that will never fade away. As long as we're living, we'll use it. Might as well try to profit from it at the same time. If you look at the Smart Option Seller Track Record, you will see our cycle of household names such as MRK, BMY, GSK, LLY, etc. We've already played MRK successfully four times since inception, and we currently have a put-sell on BMY (which is about to pay off for us). So let's hop to with MRK. Here's what you can choose to do: Sell (sell-to-open) the MRK September 20, 2019 $55 put options for a limit sell price of $0.25 per contract or higher, GTC, as an opening transaction (sell-to-open). With MRK stock near $78.80 per share at the moment, we'll have a solid $23.80 cushion above the strike price, which equates to a fat 30% buffer. I know the $55 strike price is slightly higher than the $50 threshold we like for our portfolio, but when you have a quality company such as MRK, it's ok to bend the rules from time to time. Here's MRK's current chart. It's undergoing a slight pull-back at the moment, but that is sometimes the best time to strike Currently, this put option has a market of $.24 bid/$.29 offer, so let's see if we can get the sales off at $.25 or better. My suggestion (as always) is to first place your offer price somewhere between the bid/ask market. It is not advisable to immediately place your offer right at $.25 per contract. This can scare the bids away. Be cool about it, and you will be rewarded. If you don't get filled today, makes sure your order is set "GTC". Do not sell for anything less than $.25 per contract. Ok, that's all for now. Get those orders in there and let us know how you do. Continue to hold all other open positions as-is. Contact me here with fills, comments, questions or concerns. Regards,
