New Unofficial Trade! Hello Smart Option Sellers! Here's a new "unofficial" trade for those that might be interested. This company needs no introduction, and its software is embedded in millions of computers around the world. Its share price has doubled in just the last two years alone and it doesn't look like it's going to slow down. I'm talking about... Microsoft Corp (MSFT) Currently near $111 per share, the stock has been in a solid uptrend since mid-2013. This is no longer the stodgy stock it once was, where it traded in a $10 range for about 13 years between 2000-2013. The stock languished at $20-$30 per share. Not anymore! MSFT has transformed itself into a monster that not only still supplies its Windows software to millions of computers, but it also engages in its server, consulting and cloud businesses. The market clearly likes what MSFT has done for the last five years and we should see more upside ahead. Here's MSFT's current chart. With MSFT currently at $111 per share, it's well above the $50 price tag that we like to stick with here at The Smart Option Seller. But, for those of you who care to take on this position, you are more than welcome. Officially, we will not be following it. This unofficial play has a 30% cushion below the current stock price. That will give you peace of mind and room to breathe in case there are pull-backs over the next few months. Here's what you can choose to do: Sell (sell-to-open) the MSFT January 18, 2019 $77.50 put options for a limit sell price of $.25 per contract or higher, GTC, as an opening transaction (sell-to-open). Currently, the $77.50 put option has a market of $.27 bid/$.28 offer, so you'll have no problem getting filled better than $.25 per. MSFT options are very deep and have lots of volume, so it won't be hard to get filled. If you want to take on this trade, you can still let us know how you did, but we won't be following it.
