Trade Update

Hello Smart Option Sellers! Verizon (VZ) We were able to get filled on our new put-sell position for Verizon which we initiated on Friday. Most of the fills came in at $.28 & $.29 per contract, so we'll take the official mark at $.28 per. Here's what we did: Sold (sold-to-open) the VZ October 2017 $39 put options for an official sale price of $.28 per contract as an opening transaction (sold-to-open). If you did not place your order yet on this position, keep it working "GTC" within my recommended range. Market Update The tech sector had a pretty good rout on Friday and it looks like it will continue into this morning. Big name techs such as Amazon (AMZN), Apple (AAPL), Netflix (NFLX), Facebook (FB) & Google (GOOGL) all saw good-sized downmoves on Friday. There are just certain times when stocks get ahead of themselves and need a healthy washout. In my opinion, there is nothing inherently wrong with these stocks, and you shouldn't read into it any more than it being normal profit-taking. I could see a bit more selling ahead though only to alleviate more of the froth. If you were ever considering getting long any of these stocks, wait for more of a pull-back before entertaining the idea. I'm mostly excited about Apple & Facebook. Although these two stocks are out of the range price-wise for plays that I would consider for official consideration at The Smart Option Seller, you could certainly look at potential out-of-the-money (OTM) put-sells, or even deep-in-the-money (DITM) call option buys at levels that may be attractive for you. Put-selling should be familiar to all of you, but for buying DITM calls, chapter 6 of my book Get Rich With Options (shameless plug!) lays out the strategy very well.
